WELCOME TO THE ON-LINE HEADQUARTERS OF THE 7TH
CIVIL AFFAIRS REGIMENT, 88TH BRIGADE, NEW YORK GUARD!

OUR MISSION AND OUR MEMBERS:

We are a group of New York City lawyers, judges, executives and other professionals and paraprofessionals committed to voluntary, part-time military service in support of the New York National Guard and U.S. Military Reserve Units from all branches. When soldiers are called up for duty, we make sure their legal needs are attended to so that they can do the important job of protecting our country with the peace of mind of knowing that their affairs are in order. We draft their wills, prepare powers of attorney and other necessary documents, and advise them of their rights as soldiers under federal law and as citizens of the United States.

Most of us are lawyers, but we come from all areas of practice, counting among our ranks general practitioners, immigration lawyers, criminal specialists, landlord tenant experts, personal injury lawyers, transactional lawyers, and estate lawyers. We have solo practitioners and big firm lawyers, and we have judges from many of the courts in New York City. Like many kinds of legal practice, we learn new skills from our work in the Guard that are different from what we do in our civilian careers.

If you might be interested in helping with part-time, pro bono service and be part of our nation’s military effort, please visit the FAQ section of this section or contact us for more information.
